BENAYOUN YES OR NO ?

YOSSI BENAYOUN is a summer transfer target of Rafa Benitez after the Israeli's outstanding FA Cup Final performance.

The Liverpool manager has long been an admirer of the attacking midfielder after his three years in Spain with Racing Santander. And Benitez has been impressed by his first season in the Premiership since his £2.5million transfer to West Ham in the summer.

Sources close to Benayoun say his camp were sounded out about a possible move to Anfield before the FA Cup final.

And Benayoun's fine Cardiff display, where he showed the guile lacking from the Liverpool side, has further convinced Benitez that he can help turn the Reds into Premiership challengers.

The Spaniard has £20m to spend - and will have to invest at least £6m to persuade West Ham to sell a player who will be central to their UEFA Cup bid next season.

The 25-year-old can play wide on both flanks and off a central striker, and has scored six times for West Ham this season.

Have been very impressed with him this season and if our budget does not allow us to buy the likes of Giuly or Joaquin then i think he will be able to improve us on the right wing, but it is so strange next season on our left wing we will be overloaded with 3 players trying for one spot Kewell Gonzalez and zendon, also riise may find his best chance of playing is in the same position if Fabio Aurelio plays up to his potential, it puts a lot of questions on Harry Kewells anfield future even though he really has been back to his best in the second half of the season.

How would a Liverpool team perform next year with Aurelio at left back Gonzalez left wing and Benayoun right wing.

Sounds good but dont like not having Riise and Kewell in team especially Riise. But sacrifices are going to be have to made to take the cup away from moany maureen

LIVERPOOL TRANFERS

Silly season begins straight away with the rumours that every club is buying every player.
We seem to have secured the services of 3 new players for next season already
Brazilian left-back Fabio Aurelio has already committed to signing from Valencia, joining Argentine defender Gabriel Paletta and Chile international Mark Gonzalez
But Paletta must surly be the last centre back we need or can afford for next season, we bought agger in the close season and Hyypia seems to have another seson in him maybe only back up, but with carragher that makes 4 traore will probably leave in summer , so i was surprised to read this.................

Liverpool are reported to have rekindled their interest in giant Benfica defender Luisao.

The Reds have been monitoring the Brazilian international for some time and even submitted an offer for him - understood to have been around €10 million (£6 million) - last summer. Benitez is prepared to raise his already substantial offer for the player, but Benfica are understood to be very reticent to sell.

Maybe its just rumour but he is a very good player and the type that Rafa may go for but if we do buy thats a hell of a lot of central defenders

HOW GOOD IS GERRARD

Steven gerrard surly wakes up this morning as the best midfielder in the world.
he almost single handed dragged his teammates back into a game that they were outplayed in large portions of. His second goal which must be included as a contender for goal of the season summed up what he means for Liverpool fc, with the cup looking like it was heading to london and even though he seemed to be suffering from cramp or an injury he somehow and not for the first time scores a stunning goal to give his team a lifeline.
I think he says it all here

"We've got a great team spirit - It doesn't matter how many goals we go down, we'll keep fighting till the end.

"They were nice goals. I've had a good day today but it's a great team winning and we want to enjoy it with the fans."

HE IS THE KING.......
Scariest moment yesterday...... Sami Hyypia stepping up to take penalty

THE FINAL ACCORDING TO HANDY ANDY

This guy is a lunatic read his prediction for final 80% of what he writes a is about west ham.... after reading this im not sure who they are playing.
the old evertonian will never give rafa credit, all season he has talked about negative tactics but he rejoices when everton win with these same so called negative tactics.
its ok and proper to stand up for your old club but when u are a supposed to be respected football pundit he should even pretend a little bit to be neutral

Andy Gray's FA Cup final

t's fair to say we're due an entertaining FA Cup final and we might just get it in Cardiff on Saturday afternoon.

The calibre of player Liverpool have in their ranks combined with the way Alan Pardew's team like to play football, we could get a really smashing game.

For me it depends on West Ham. If they are the same team that played the first-half of the semi-final against Boro at Villa Park, I don't think they have a chance.

They may have anywhere near as much pressure on them as they did at the Millennium Stadium last year but it is still a huge game for them and mentally they've got to be right.

You'd expect Liverpool to settle first, to get their passing game going and Steven Gerrard on the ball. If the Hammers lose a goal then it's a long way back.

Yet they have proved game opposition all year. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has enjoyed watching them and a 10th-placed finish on their return to the top flight is fantastic.

I also want to praise the manager for the job he has done. But it's not only what he’s done on the field, it's the way he goes about his business off it too.

Alan has invited me into his office on a couple of occasions when we've been at Upton Park and I've really enjoyed talking to him. Not everybody is that open and friendly.

Five days before West Ham were weaving a way out of the Championship last year, Liverpool were being crowned champions of Europe. It's another way of seeing how far West Ham have come.

Now i believe we are a bit over confident but andy gray seems to relate been invited to a private bevvy with alan pardew as a sign they are going to snatch this cup.....................the guy is a big fat friggin idiot..........not pardew i mean the fat one

Mark Gonzalez a zinger of a winger

Mark Gonzalez has stated he is committed to joining Liverpool, despite a number of Liga clubs being interested in securing his services.

The Chilean winger has impressed in Spain this term having joined Real Sociedad on loan in January after seeing a work permit application to play in England rejected.

Gonzalez is now waiting for the green light from the Home Office before embarking on his new career with Liverpool in The Premiership.

The 21-year-old is flattered Sociedad and others are keen on signing him permanently, but has his heart set on moving the European champions.

"I am very thankful to Real Sociedad and their coach Jose Mari Bakero, but while they'd like me to stay I'm going to England to join Liverpool," said Gonzalez.

"I'm waiting until June 30 when I'll receive my papers authorising me to play and work in England. Obviously, the next step in my career is then to play for Liverpool.

"I have been in touch with Rafa Benitez (manager) and Paco Herrera (coach). They have been always up to date with my personal and professional situation."

great news , he is going to be star of the very near future for us

maureen has one more year

jose mourhinho is walking the tightrope, with all of romans rubels if he dose not win the champions league next year then roman really has to think is he right man for the job.
I dont think he will deliver, for all his showmanship he seems to know fuck all about football, his expensive squad has carried him through 2 seasons but when it comes to cup comp a one on one battle he just cant cut it , his team selection whenwe beat them in the fa was baffling. why he did not play duff is a shocking decision,
And i think the guy is so stupid he will make same mistakes next year not win the champions league and get sacked.
how mant clubs will offer him a job.......not too many big clubs he has to prove himself all over again........................idiot

Portsmouth v Liverpool

last game of season cant worry about manure winning or losing. rafa may put more players in shop window to try and sell but he wont risk losing points just in case manure fuck up, cisse will probably play cause the more he plays recently his price is going up and we can get back most of his trnsfer fee. i have got the liverpool score predictions right last 7 games in betting using a 1-0 2-0 2-1 formula and against villa last week had feeling we would score more so got the 3-1. tomorrow is a strange one pompey have noyhing to play for but also no pressure and harry is a great manager. tomorrow i think 3-0 2-0 or 2-1 to us, u can bet your shirt on that.

who is in the shop window

In recent games rafa has been playing cisse and morientes a lot, i think but also hope that this is to put them in the shop window to be sold. they have both done well recently but not good enough to rely on them to score enough goals next season to win the prem.
Fowler and crouch are great players but are more link up strikers than out and out goalscorers , fowler was but since his comeback he seems to be much better setting play up, so i think we need 2 out and out goal getters.
So i hope we get decent money for cisse and morientes so we can maybe bring in someone like dirk kuyt plus another strker. Dont really care if both are well not known...in rafa we trust....

one more year of god

Great news today fowler the prowler given a well deserved one year extension to his contract. I have been very impressed with him since he rejoined, i was over the moon when he rejoined but i think a lot of that was emotion remembering what he has done for the club and what the club means to him
But as his fitness picked up he really showed the intelligent player that he is and what he offers to the team, true he is not going to outsprint so many players these days but his game has always been about intelligence and vision and the odd cheeky chip over the keeper, so age wont restrict him as much as it does so many players. With him focused, going into a full preseason we will have a great great asset to the team next season.

rafa the gafa was right

this gonzalez situation shows how crazy the rules are to let a player outside the eu play in the prem, the majority of non eu are ordinary, then gonzalez comes along gets rejected and scores 5 goals in 8 games in la liga, thank god rafa rang him every second day to remind him Liverpool is his home.
top marks to rafa the boy is being chased now by europes elite but because of rafa he knows his future is at anfield.

on the up

after last years heroics in istanbul it was always going to be hard to beat, but rafa has done just that , by improving our league position and as a bonus reaching the FA cup final, its not the european cup but its obvious were moving in the right direction......fast
